The funny thing is that the incel/alt-right types who call people "soyboys" in reddit comments are like the polar opposite of what they call an "alpha male" I think the difference here is that incels want to be the alpha. They resent the fact that they are not that, and they take their animosity out on women. Soy boys are perceived as males who reject their masculinity, and they take their animosity out on masculine males through anti-male products such as Buzzfeed articles.
