Boo fucking hoo. I live on Long Island in Suffolk county, where they started charging for plastic bags this year. It's a nickel per bag. The only people complaining about it are the type of people who would throw those bags out the window before they'd ever recycle them, and generally people who spending an extra fucking 15 cents per week isn't going to matter to.

At this point in time there's absolutely no excuse to not have a collection of reusable shopping bags. They fucking give them away for free at every event on the planet, so if you don't have any, you must be living under a fucking rock.

you actually can't recycle plastic bags, which is one reason so many localities are wanting to ban them. gums up the recycle machines when people do that.

I wonder how hard it would be to convert a 3d printer to use them...
