Highwind07 posted... 5 facts about Albania. 1) the language is a unique european language with no sister languages, like greek. though latin is by far the biggest influence 2) the country is mostly mountains, with a coast along the adriatic. it has a mediterranean climate like greece or croatia 3) the religions are split between greek orthodox christianity, roman catholicism, sunni islam and bektashi. though most are irreligious and there's no religious conflict whatsoever 4) most albanians live outside of albania, with only about a third living in albania. another third live in neighboring countries, mostly along the borders. and the final third are diaspora living outside of the balkans, like me. 5) the area the country resides in has been occupied almost continuously since the romans. the byzantines followed, and then the ottomans. italy and germany also occupied the area for a short while during ww2 --- ...
