They said a while back that he had approximately a year to live. It's a real shame. Like many 90s kids, I was introduced to the guy through Boy Meets World.

I always think of him as a guy who had a lot of potential, but got sidelined due to other people's selfish decisions and maybe a problem or two of his own. He was one of the more entertaining big men in the business.

I understand that his physical style was something not everyone was comfortable with. In a real fight, you at least get the chance to try and defend yourself. When it's scripted, there's not much you can do about the other guy laying into you with some rather stiff worked punches. Vader himself stated in an interview or two that his lack of a push in the WWE might've been partly his own fault and I respect him owning up to that. Everyone said he was a good guy outside the ring.
