I think it's possible that with too much experience also comes being more jaded about it when it comes to the game. Grudges can especially grow over time if someone feels someone else has not gotten their "due". I've already dealt with a few situations where I desperately wanted someone to be scum but thought they were town. If someone starts giving into that "want" to fabricate reasons to themselves, they've lost their way... At least that's how it feels to me. Not really on topic from what this was about...
