Tazzy is correct. You shouldn't have to select a new weapon at all. You should be able to finish an entire fight with a single weapon. I found myself not being able to do that 90% of the time with what I played, even if I wasn't using something pathetic like a Boko Club.

It's what happened to me. Keep in mind I only played like 20-25 hours or so. I only had like two weapons last more than an entire fight. This goes back to Ethan's point about not having any sense of progression - you just pick up what's in any given area. You shouldn't be getting weak weapons after you get to a certain point in the game, but alas, you do.

If you only played for 20 hours or so, then you should still be getting weak weapons, probably. Also depends on where you are in the world I think.

But realistically, if you had multiple weapons break in fights, then either all of those weapons were nondurable weapons, already had been used and were low in durability, or you just accidentally kept hitting things other than enemies.

It would probably take 10 traveler's swords to beat a silver bokoblin, but a royal sword can probably take out at least 5.
