I think they should use Boxes for a large number of reasons and have refused to compete in Melee largely due to its archaic controller situation that forces mods to compete at a high level. The problem isn't Armada not competing, the problem is that it got to that point to start with. If your game needs a shitty controller or a mod to be competitive then Im pretty sure it wasnt intended to be anything other than a party platformer But how much does intention alone actually matter? The "Sakurai didn't intend X" is more or less irrelevant to the actual outcome He explicitly attempted to make Brawl noncompetitive but it retained a scene for 6 years anyway. Creator intent means nothing if the game has the tools to bypass that intent.
