With friends that might not be an issue, but with randoms Im sure there would be people quitting when theyre losing. If everybody quit on you the game would end and youd have to try again. Replace with AI like just about every other online game does? Mario Party games already have AI so it wouldn't exactly be difficult.

You could, but then the 1v3 or 2v2 mini-games might not be so fair depending on how good/bad the AI is. There arent really a lot of those, but I cant imagine anybody would want to be teamed up with the AI if anybody did quit since real players would more than likely be better. It being an AI would still be preferable to it being a new player that gets to keep the coins and stars the quitter had though. Like I said they definitely could make it work. It just doesnt seem like they want to for whatever reason. A fair amount of us might actually WANT a new Mario Party if it meant we could play full matches online with friends.
