Here's a crazy suggestion for the people who really took the sanctuary that seriously and have lost sleep or had breakdowns over this...
If this online thing means so much to you, have you thought about taking it off gamefaqs? Create your own subreddit or message board and leave gamefaqs. You will have no "spies", "traitors" and "leaks". You have so little control over this community (sanctuary) which has become so important for your happiness and well being. You could get banned tomorrow or the board would be gone and you'd be devastated.
Yes, taking it off of GameFAQs has been a suggestion, but an off-site place can still have the same issues.
However, I would like to note that all of this spilled outside of GameFAQs. That includes harassment, stalking, and doxxing of people that visit this site and some who have never been here. This particularly scenario is notable because of that and not your normal "CE drama."

How did people even get dooxxed here? I mean did they willingly give their emails or social media handles to other people?
This is what I'm wondering. If you care about being doxxed don't post your real life info on GameFAQs. I've posted my twitter here plenty of times but I don't care if people know about me. If you do care don't give away your personal info.

A few steps I would recommend to everyone here:
- no social media handles - Don't use your social media handles as a nickname here - don't register your gamefaqs account with a "real" email, create an email just for gamefaqs - never post your picture
I see guys that have "CE meetups" and I can't help to think that's dangerous as fuck.
You are correct, but I wouldn't assume information was given out willingly. Not to mention, not everyone knows how to take all of those precautions. Hindsight is 20/20.
