TopicAs someone from Singapore, its pretty sad how my country is constantly mistaken.

I was amazed at the granularity of the choices provided for race. There were sub-options for say, different indian groups, or chinese groups.

But then other geographic areas had less options. What would a Sicilian check? (they're not exactly white). A portuguese? A Mexican? A native American (e.g. Cherokee)?


All countries have different racial groupings fyi. For instance, in US, you have Hispanics, Asians, Whites and African-Americans. You basically just group races like Chinese under 'Asian'.

Meanwhile in Singapore, same thing. They have Chinese, Malay, Indian, Eurasian and Caucasian. White people are under Caucasian. Doesnt matrer if you're from Europe or America or Russia.

Countries go by their main racial proportions for clasifying.
