It says a hell of a lot more about you that you think anyone who goes through with it "wasn't trying to get help". Whatever Bourdain's case, he clearly didn't communicate to his loved ones that his emotional state was bad enough that he could go through with it at any time. Which is a hard thing to do, so it's understandable. But I refuse to believe this couldn't have been prevented.
