I bet it's going to be a combination of the Wii U and 3DS versions like Hyrule Warriors was.

Has to be a combination + more. And by more I mean different modes. I don't want anyone except the outright clones (Dark Pit, Lucina, Dr. Mario) to be removed.

There's the idea that Mario might get a changed moveset, and if that were the case, keeping Doc around with Mario's old moveset would make a lot of sense. As for Dark Pit, I think they could put some more effort into him, but if they were to do that, they might as well just replace him with the superior Hades. Lucina is pretty much a lost cause though. And Fire Emblem has so many characters that it makes sense to remove her for someone else. Marth and Ike are the only ones who should be absolutely safe.
