Because it's not uncommon for publishers/developers to shut down large scale story mods, fan remakes, remasters, etc. even when they're not selling it or only accepting donations, which this is going to be free but I believe they did accept donations as well. It's stupid to have to worry about it but you do. Generally with something of this size they wouldn't shut it down. They usually do it early on or midway through once it's gaining traction if they care. To take something like this that's been worked on a decade and shut it down before release would open the flood gates to one of the biggest hate campaigns on the internet, and I doubt Bethesda has any desire to be on the receiving end of another one. --- ...
