As for what you're saying, Jakyl, the key is calling the action bigoted, rather than the person, and mentioning it when it's relevant to the context of the discussion. There's a big difference between randomly mentioning that a dude did something and how despicable he is out of the blue vs the guy coming up in conversation and you saying "he acted kinda bigoted the other day when he did ___ and that was offputting"

I try to keep this in mind when I make most claims, unless theres a clear pattern like with Trump or they openly claim it like the alt-right.

For sure. Though tbh calling someone a bigot is just shorthand for "someone who does bigoted things" in the same way that baker is just shorthand for "person who bakes a lot", so I don't think there's nearly as much of a distinction between calling an action bigoted and calling a person bigoted as this implies. Like I'm thinking the same thing in both cases, it's honestly just a matter of phrasing.
