From what I've seen people say, the company was on the verge of bankruptcy before he did a video on the game. His video garnered enough interest in people that they had a big influx of players and backers. It's now a five-year-old game and seems to still be going. This wasn't even unique. He brought a big influx of players into League of Legends and Path of Exile. I can believe it. I've learned about a lot of games through WTF that I ended up buying, like Hotline Miami.
