If someone is trying to rape you, you can't rape them in return. If someone is trying to force you into a loan with an illegally high interest rate, you can't force them into a loan with an illegally high interest rate in return. You can't use "but he started it" as an excuse to do any of those things, why should you be able to use it to kill someone? He should have retreated or defended himself non lethally ...
