TopicWhy on earth do people buy remasters of games they've played (e.g. Dark Souls)?

But how do you get any sort of entertainment playing the *exact same game* with these minor improvements? It kind of boggles my mind; like, you've experienced something once fully, what the hell else do you want from the game?

Some of these minor changes can change a game in a pretty big way.

Oh, and do you also think replaying games is stupid? You've already experienced it once, why play it again?

Depends-- each game has a certain amount of replayability before it becomes stale; some people play a game to death because they're boring people, but that's personal preference. All this is aside the point, though. If you owned the game with slightly worse graphics and performance, you had all the time in the world to replay it. Why would you repurchase it to this end?

Frame rate makes a huge difference.

Plus tons of people play games multiple times. Especially in RPGs where two playthroughs can be very different based on the build you choose and the story choices you make. I'm honestly not sure if you're serious at this point.

Aside from blight town, the framerate thing was never a huge issue. And frankly, I'm surprised that most people who repurchase the same games are serious, but then I remembered how terrible the current gaming market is, and how the dumb customers pay for the crappiest games/services.

Again you're circumventing the key issue here though- why can't you get the same "multiple playthroughs" from the slightly worse version you own?

Edit: And this doesn't even take into account that Dark Souls 3 is better than the original in most ways, at least gameplay-wise. Storywise and mapwise I'd agree the original is better.
