Mostly the people who aren't grasping the concept of "paper keys", i.e, degrees enable you to get different positions and that every job out there is a viable one. If a job no longer has a needed purpose in society, that job dies out. Librarians still have a purpose and that sort of degree can be applied to other jobs as well, like a records custodian or a historian when combined with the right experience.

idk, experience is also very important and maybe with the right experience it can make up for a lack of degree sometimes.
