There's a lot of money, technology, and military might, but also tons of poverty/crumbling infrastructure, entitlement, and stupid decisions. Nowhere is perfect, but it'd take an awful lot of wealth for me to entertain living there. I honestly feel sorry for my friends there in some ways. I've been to about a dozen states and I've met lots of nice people.
