So I've been here.

It wasn't my best decision, but it wasn't a disaster either.

We connected online when online was a fresh new thing. We were both rather asocial people and we liked the same things. I wasn't exactly the kind of person who was in a rush to mature, so it's not like there was a discrepancy in maturity much. I don't really consider it "creeping" because I had never had a girlfriend, so I didn't make any assumptions about what the relationship would entail.

We lived half the country apart so we only ever met once. Strict parental supervision. For a guy who hadn't dated anyone up to that point, I had no preconceptions about how it was all supposed to go. In the end, nothing happened. We kept it going online for a while, but eventually broke it off when we realized getting together was just not viable.

That said I would like to check in with her to see how she's doing. It's been eighteen years, and all. We're still FB friends but we don't really talk.
