Ever since like 20 years ago when it shot to the near top of the IMDB 200, between the two Godfather movies, I've been baffled by what people see in it to warrant that. It's very good but I don't get this #2 of all-time business. It's actually been #1 on the site ever since my first visit... which was almost ten years ago. I agree that it's overrated but still good, though; it's certainly a polished feel-good movie that has a broad appeal, and the first couple times I watched it I thought it was a perfect 10, but as the years have gone by I guess it just kinda feels too... conventional to be an all-time great? The latter moments of the movie do kinda get a little saccharine at times too. I still enjoy the movie a ton, but at this point I'd probably consider it to be more of an 8/10. --- ...
