If you think the actual mechanics of playing it are fun (which a lot of people, myself included do) then it's a great game to just come back to for a little bit every now and then, especially since they run their own little versions of Splatfests once a month where you play online for one of two teams. That all said, if you don't particularly find the fighting to be fun, it's not really worth it since it's not a really deep game. If you like puzzle games, Puyo Puyo Tetris is a must-have. If you didn't play it on Wii U, DKC Tropical Freeze is legit a GOAT tier platformer.
