A member of the notorious Skaf rape gang has broken his silence about the crime rampage that shocked Australia by asking: Mate what am I sorry about? I've done my time.

A Current Affair can also reveal Belal Hajeid is facing fresh charges of common assault, stalking and damage to property in an alleged domestic violence incident which will go before Bankstown local court next month.

Hajeid has pleaded not guilty to all three charges.

Hajeid, who spent 14 years behind bars, is now working in maintenance for a council in Sydneys inner west.

Despite his regular employment, A Current Affair can reveal Hajeid has managed to dodge the majority of his victims compensation bill by arguing he is in the doldrums financially and that his liability should be split among the members of the Skaf gang.

In a hearing at the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Hajeid managed to talk his compensation bill down from $100,000 to $6000 a 94 percent discount for gang rape.

When asked if he could afford to pay more, Hajeid replied, of course.

Hajeid was asked on 12 separate occasions in the fiery encounter with A Current Affair if he was apologetic or remorseful for his role in gang rapes described as worse than murder by sentencing judge Michael Finnane he declined to say sorry every time.

The gang rapist was spotted driving a hatchback with an Australian flag on the rear window, a drastic departure from the racially motivated attacks 18 years ago in which young women were called Aussie pigs, Aussie slut and taunted by the pack with the threat Im gonna fuck you Leb style.
