Not for any currently topical reasons though.

We usually have two or three homeless people come through in the morning; they order a cup of coffee or something and sit around for an hour or so, then leave. Some of them don't smell great, but then there's this one guy who comes about twice a week, who smells worse than anyone I've ever seen combined.

We always wondered what exactly made him smell so bad, and today we found out. He came in around 9, ordered a senior coffee, and eventually dozed off in his seat. After a while a customer mentioned that they saw a bug or something crawling on the floor, and when we examined further we saw that the homeless man was dropping maggots from his body. There were quite a lot of them too, and they were getting around so I had to sweep them up.

I'm normally pretty nice to this guy, but I had to kick him out. You can't have fucking maggots in a restaurant, period. I woke him up, told him he couldn't be dropping bugs in the place, and tried to get him to leave - for about thirty minutes. The process was lengthened by my non-threatening personality, and the fact that the guy was not all there mentally. Not like mentally handicapped; more like his brain is just fried. I'm pretty sure he doesn't do drugs, so I don't know what's going on. In any case, you gotta be pretty fucked up in the head to live with maggots on you 24/7.
