Yes, nothing should ever change, we should keep the same economies and workplaces that we've had since the dawn of humankind. If innocent creatures suffer for it, so be it. Why educate people and move forward as a society?

The key is to support government policies that incentivize new industry to replace the old and a gradual shift from dependence on that industry if it is harmful or environmental, not making a scene in front of a fishery with gruesome images and yelling. All you are doing is galvanizing the people in the industry against you and making them even less likely to listen to you.
