When my boys were younger they wanted to hang out at the skate park section of the local park, but I would always be right beside them and tell them to be mindful of the skaters because they can't stop on a dime without hurting you or themselves. Most of the time skaters were mindful to and they'd skate on one end of the park and let my boys play. One of them even let my boys, one at a time, sit on his board and he'd roll them down the ramps, and they loved it. I have no idea why our society is reacting more and more with anger and violence when it isn't needed.
