If he had stood up to Black Lives Matter, things might have been different. Wouldn't that same logic also be applied to Trump with his spinelessness and passiveness in addressing the new identity politics in the wake of his election? If he had stood up to the Alt Right and White supremacists, things might have been different? If they were actually a threat or if anything was actually different, then yes.
