Obama didn't actively or directly hurt race relations, but his spinelessness and passiveness in addressing the new identity politics in the wake of his election did not go unnoticed. If he had stood up to Black Lives Matter, things might have been different. Wouldn't that same logic also be applied to Trump with his spinelessness and passiveness in addressing the new identity politics in the wake of his election?
