I will say that black women are fighters. They're the ones most pressured by their parent(s) to focus on their studies and their career over a relationship, and as such they're more goal and career-oriented than other cultures. And becoming that kind of person pretty much requires you to maintain your autonomy and be occasionally confrontational.

This can turn off some men, who expect for women to go along with whatever he does. But black women simply aren't down for that because they have their own plans in mind.

Why do you guys feel so comfortable speaking like this about other people?

Even if you feel comfortable speaking on black women because you've been around them your whole life, it really feels odd to me how comfortable you are comparing them to every one else who you presumably don't have the same kind of relationships and histories with.

Also, this particular thing is kind of not true at all in my experience lol. Here in the south a lot of black women are very religious and family oriented -- plenty of the girls I went to high school with or in my girlfriend's family didn't get this memo.

But I also don't want to try to generalize like that because it makes one an asshole imo

I mean, it's not always going to be true but it's something to note.

It doesn't necessarily make them worse dating companions. It's just something to note.

I mean, even the black girl that I dated who wasn't confrontational at all, she was still very much goal/career-oriented and focused more of her attention on that than trying to find a guy to sweep her off her feet. And that's a value her family instilled in her.

White and other women are exactly the same, and they tend to be employed in better jobs and work more hours than black women. This is a stereotype and an excuse. Stop spreading it.

Black women's dating situation has nothing to do with work or education. ALL women who are educated have issues and all races of women are outpacing their men. What about the scores of 9-5 and part time, non college educated black women that are still single?

Actually, there has been research to show that black women are among the most educated groups in the U.S.
