They will provide you with a lawyer if they arrest you. Just stay quiet till a lawyer is with you. I highly doubt it will reach felony levels. Essentially, if they have a case against you, let them act on it. And unless you have a lawyer, don't try to straighten things out. Remember, apologizing is an admission of guilt as well. I would also post this on Reddit to get some input from actual lawyers that hang there. In reality, what should happen is that the detective should be too lazy to subpoena Facebook for your IP and information. He will likely have nothing to arrest you for and close the case himself. He might try visiting again, but just don't answer. Unless he's there with an arrest warrant, do not respond. --- It all just disappears, doesn't it?
