In Thor Ragnarok, Strange was making entire rooms appear / change / disappear without even moving a muscle. He completely manhandled Thor and Loki like they were children who didn't understand what was happening. In his movie he was folding dimensions, stopping / reversing time at a ridiculous scale, etc.

Then nameless baddy minion in Infinity War appears onscreen and none of that at all. He can barely move shit, his teleport shenanigans don't do crap, and he doesn't even count as second fiddle to Iron Man, who, as I remember, didnt even use his backup suits.

It's not that Thanos was capable of dealing with his shenanigans. They nerfed him hard in that movie so that the Black Army(?) could be a believable threat.
