Neither one of those things are illegal,

Nobody said they were...

both are free to say what they want. What's being called out in this topic is the fact that Colin and other celebrities including actors and musicians are told to stay in their lane and keep out of politics publicly. Once Kanye voices his, those same people defend him. Neither one of them are doing anything wrong, but the fact that anyone supports one and trashes the other due to opinion difference is a hypocrite.

Except not because as I said nobody was annoyed or even cared about Colin's political views. They were even angry that Colin was encouraging others not to vote and thereby remove the youth's political views from being represented.

People were upset at his protesting. Which Kanye hasn't done.

You're looking for a comparison just to be mad at a boogieman who doesn't exist. This comparison fails.

It's like saying "You're mad at me because I fucked your girlfriend on your bed well then how come you're not mad that this Chinese girl had sex with me last night!?"

Because it's not you having sex that they were offended by.
