As much as I want to shit all over the cops for this like most "...at the hands of police" topics here... I actually feel inclined to agree with the statement about complex circumstances. While it is terrible that this happened and the end result was the guy dying, Schizophrenia is some serious shit and from what I'm reading, the cops were justified in entering the apartment as they did. It sounds like they were a bit quick to resort to tazing and the situation could clearly have been handled in a better fashion, but if the responding cops weren't trained/prepared to handle someone with his condition, I don't see this as criminal. On the other hand, if a civil suit is launched against the department, I would expect them to rightfully be found liable in the man's death.

I agree with this. I was pissed reading this, and Im normally pro cop. I hope they launch a civil suit and find these officers responsible for his death.
