The dude could've climbed in from outside looking for a water source, could've crawled from behind your wall looking for water. There is a lot more room for variable if you bump into one at night. Seeing one during the day means you're probably fucked and have an infestation. That basically means that there is no more room in their nest and they are completely overcrowded.
