I get what he is saying, though I think he is leaving out a crucial detail; while the sum of African treatment has been absolutely atrocious and completely unforgivable, the Nazis represent a point in our collective history where the genocide of a person was no longer a military objective, but an industrial one. It's a hallmark on human history. The exact point that we turned our collective progress and innovation on its side and decided to use the amazing machines we had built to try and wipe out 17 million innocent people. So yeah, I think it's pretty fucking important that we don't shy away from reminding people how fucking horrible that was.
