Now, there are always better things to do any of those things, but broadly negating it (from a society perspective) because of the negatives is a dumb way of looking at things. It destroys families(my own included. My father was an alcoholic, not me or anything) and peoples lives. It is not something to be taken lightly. Alcohol is full of negatives and has done more harm than good imo
Also it tastes good, fuck it. Cook with it, drink it, be happy when you drink it, have fun. Cooking it destroys the alcohol part so that point is invalid. You can have fun without drinking and if you cant then that is just plain pathetic
Alcohol is also calorie dense(7 calories per gram, fat is 9 and carbs and sugars is 4). I wouldnt be suprised if it is partly responsible for the USs obesity epidemic
