That significantly narrows the definition though. that is what sci-fi has been. like say, Moon, or gattaca, or the matrix were all great sci-fi examples JOExHIGASHI posted... Then there is no sci fi genre with your definition. there surely is Avatar is labeled and marketed as a science fiction film. i won't die on that hill. i am just saying it is more of a science fantasy using a fantasy world trope for Pandora --- Never write off the Doctor! ...
