Apocalypse Now was not the Vietnam movie that was needed at the time (and in fact that Vietnam movie would not get made until Martin's son made a far better Vietnam film in Platoon), but it grew to become something else entirely. Whereas Kramer vs. Kramer stacks the deck a little bit too hard for the dude. Streep's character is entirely absent from the movie until the court scene, and she comes off as extremely unsympathetic. Also it doesn't really tell the truth either. Even back then, if a husband requested the kids, he got it nearly all the time. It's still that way today, despite misconceptions so much wrong, I'm glad you stopped --- 2018 St. Louis Cardinals are 4-6 ... Copied to Clipboard! |
