God of War was a decent series, but it was always Devil May Cry Jr.
In DMC you had to know every move, and when to use each move. There were penalties for just button mashing. You couldn't just cheese your way thru it, even in easy mode.
GoW had a huge moveset, but 95% of the game was square square square triangle. You could get away with button mashing for minutes to hours. GoW 2 switched it up a bit when they added the shield carriers that made you use triangle triangle triangle square for the 5% of that one level. Otherwise, the huge moveset was still wasted because you could just spam the game end to end more or less.
Dante will always outrank Kratos when it comes down to game play.
Have you seen the new God of war gameplay? It's totally different then what it used to be. Basically seems like they dudes the last of us with darksouls. You should take a look of you ahvenr seen the revamped gameplay.
So you're trying to sell me on the game with even more QTE and more drawn out corridors full of meatshields that are just as succeptible to spam?

Until I see Kratos rocking something like the Beowulf in a Royal Guard style it's always going to be the dumbed down version of a DMC game.
Eh, I was just saying the gameplay is completely new lol they went a different route. If your issue was comparing it to devil may cry, then so be it. But it doesn't play like a hack and slash anymore.
This is the video that got me hyped. But I mean, everyone has different tastes. I don't expect you to like it just because I do.
