That's a tough question to answer if you're talking about Bitcoin, people have fears that there will be massive hubs used for payment channels (like Walmart, Starbucks, McDonald's would have their own nodes for example) that could charge more and fuck people over with higher fees. It depends on how adopted LN becomes.

You can see that some nodes look like bottlenecks (although for now it may be because they serve as a tutorial to allow LN payments, and aren't meant to be legitimate nodes just yet).
