My definition of chain is like nationwide.

There are plenty of high quality restaurants across the nation that make pizza with their own sauce and don't follow the typical formula for pizza. These places will likely have the best pizza.

My favorite chain of pizza would likely be California Pizza Kitchen. I'd rate them a B.

CPK is pretty good, the price tag is kinda rough though when you have good local places with giant slices $3 for 2.

Fun fact: all pizza sauce is basically a combination of salt, black pepper, sugar, raw garlic, oregano and then maybe a few other herbs like basil in plain marina/crushed tomato sauce. Sometimes Parmesan cheese added too.

Every restaurant has their own ratios but it's mostly the same. A bit more of this, a bit less of that.

Worked for 2 different pizza places... really ruins shitty pizza when you can taste exactly what's wrong or what's not in it lol. Ignorance is bliss I suppose.
