Anyway, at this point, is there any argument for Rick being any better than Negan? He literally murdered those men at the diner for no reason. At least Negan would realize that those men were a potential resource for humanity's survival in the post-apocalypse and give them a chance.

Case in point, Negan let Jadis live. It kind of seemed like he might have been trying to trick her into letting him go so that he could kill her, just like what Rick did. But he was being honest. It's a bad sign when the main villain is more empathetic and reasonable than the hero.

Pretty much.

The show was framed to portray how evil Negan was when he killed Eugene and Glenn, but Rick murdered four times as many innocent people as that in this past episode for absolutely no reason. And if you recall, the reason Negan killed those two (actually, it was just supposed to be one before Daryl attacked Negan) was because Rick launched an unprovoked attack on one of Negan's outposts and massacred all of his men. Rick's group was an active antagonist at that point, and Negan still showed them more mercy than Rick did.
