It gives each character advantages and disadvantages and makes you believe that they can be useful to one another. And then it does the same damn thing for the villains. Superman isn't able to keep up with the Joker's bullshit, Batman knows pretty much every move the guy will take. Batman isn't able to take on Luthor's spider-tank, Superman effortlessly crushes it.
