It's my annual Zelda binge, and I'm typically invigorated to 100% complete at least all five (now six) of the main 3D Zelda games. I've already completed Wind Waker and Twilight Princess in a relatively short time.

I decided to tackle OoT next, and I pretty much have zero motivation to play it, unlike the last two. I opened an old playthrough I hadn't completed yet and didn't have much progress on, and apparently I was still in the middle of the Deku Tree dungeon. I beat that and went out to Hyrule Field and stopped there. Didn't even make it to Castle Town. It's been weeks now and I still haven't touched the game.

What the heck happened? Why did this game, the greatest game of all time, suddenly become so boring and bland? I'm not looking forward to the next two dungeons at all; it's more arduous than fun tbh. Not even the sidequests or minigames are that enteraining.

Granted, I've always preferred TWW and MM before, but OoT is a classic. Am I blinded by nostalgia? Has the novelty worn off? It's aged well and is by no means a bad game -- I'm just not interested in playing it at all, despite the fond memories of beating it numerous times in the past. I'm thinking about skipping to MM or even SS (another one I'm not looking forward to, blegh).

I feel like I'm beginning to feel what so many players have already felt about this game before. Makes me sad, didn't think this would ever happen to me . I'll still always love OoT regardless.
