I have a 1989 book on animation history (funny that it ends in 1989 RIGHT before all of those magnificent Disney movies and TV cartoons, as well as The Simpsons) and they devote several pages to the Fleischer cartoons. Quite a fascinating read, I didn't know that their budget for each episode was enormous. There's also a lot of subtleties to the actual animation, little movements that make the actions feel more fluid.
