SQL is what programmers pick up when they're bored and VBA is for teaching children the basic concepts. This is the most random thing I've ever heard. You need to be good at SQL if your system is running off of it. Why would people pick it up when they're bored? They probably wouldn't pick it up unless they needed to use it. It's barely a language, and there are a thousand tools and packages to handle the hard work for you. By "when they're bored" I was being factitious. Of course they learn it when they need to use it for a system, but that's my point. It's a utility and not a standalone skill. It's the thing you add as a bonus to your resume and not the central focus.
