MGS 4 had amazing gameplay that was, unfortunately, only showcased in two acts very well.

MGS V has very mediocre gameplay in comparison, but it's stretched out over the entire game.

People can blame Kojima being "rushed" (lmfao) all they want, the game wasn't going to drastically change by the point it got released. It's a very basic open world game at it's core.

Which, I guess should be expected as it was KJP's first true open world game. But when you realize that like, there isn't really any sort of battles taking place in these occupied countries and how the AI is super fucking basic at the end of the day it makes you appreciate the opening of MGS4 a hell of a lot more.
