Keep in mind that while a lot of parents say that they're not splitting up because of the kid, that's just not really true in some cases. People will often marry each other without having discussions about children and as a result, differences in ideals on how to parent become issues. Like, for example, two people get married, one believes in spanking and the other is extremely against it. The one day the spanking parent just picks up the kid and spanks them. This kind of shit will drive an enormous wedge between the parents and drive them apart. Communication is key. You need to hammer this shit out now and not "when I'm done with my CS degree" --- ...
