those demon movies never have God. he's just some asshole who doesn't pay attention or sucks and can't do anything. it never really makes all the much sense unless the nature of religion is way different than we are taught. I saw a movie once where a guy rushed into a demon summoning ritual full of new found faith and he was basically like a mortal with level 10 True Faith in the world of darkness rpg. he should have smited the demon and all the summoners. but instead the demon slaughters him.
