I have never spoken against killing killers.

Proportional response. If someone punches you, punch them. If someone kills you, kill them.

If you kill someone who is just walking down the street with skittles and ice tea, then you're a killer. If you kill someone who just murdered your family, it's justified.

Eye for an eye.

If someone walks onto your property, then you don't assault them. You walk onto their property, as that would be a proportional response.
